Northern
Builders, Inc. was founded in 1927 by the late Paul Grusecki.
In the last 75 years, Northern, at the guidance of Mr. Grusecki,
his wife Mary and now his two sons, James and Thomas, has
grown into one the leading Commercial Real Estate Developers
in the Chicagoland area. As a privately held company, Northern
automatically distinguishes itself over institutional developers
with an entrepreneurial business strategy.
Northern's
portfolio includes over 4 million square feet of industrial
space and near one million square feet of office space. Northern,
which started as a general contractor, continues to pride
itself as one of the last few developers with an in-house
general contracting company. Northern has built over 35 million
square feet of space throughout its history and has built
everything in its portfolio.
Northern
also manages its entire portfolio from the same office which
houses the development and contracting groups. Northern is
a substantial organization with the personnel and resources
to develop and construct a 1.1 million square foot Midwest
distribution center, call center and retail outlet store for
Crate & Barrel, yet with the ability to focus on clients
such as Vanguard Archives for whom they constructed a 40,000
square foot warehouse in St. Charles, Illinois. Large or small,
communication is what makes a project successful. Performing
all of the disciplines in the development process in-house
affords them a distinct advantage.
